Sunday Service – Coming of Age Celebration
May 2 – Coming of Age Celebration led by Tania Torres and the RE program
May 2 – Coming of Age Celebration led by Tania Torres and the RE program
Members are invited to attend this hearing to review and offer input on the draft budget for the upcoming church year (July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011). Members will also be asked for their ideas on what to do with any unspent funds from the current church year. And assuming that the endowment by-laws are approved on April 15th, members will also be asked for their thoughts on transferring all or part of our “Rainy Day Fund” to the control of the new endowment committee. This fund is separate from our endowment and, as of March 31, 2010, had a market value of $68,353.17.
There will be a Spring Clean-Up Day, Saturday, May 8, from 10am – 4pm. Please join us for part of the day, or the whole time. We plan to get a lot accomplished & have a lot of fun! Kids are welcome, may have them work with adults outside in the garden on 76th Street. We will have snacks & food during the day. The Clean-Up Day is being led by Nancy Robillard & Tom Albrecht. Please contact Nancy or Tom with ideas, we are especially looking for someone to lead the children in the garden.
Members will have the opportunity to vote on two important items at this meeting:
(a) approve the proposed changes to our existing by-laws that would create a more robust endowment program;
(b) approve Julie Taylor’s request that Fourth U ordain her as a Unitarian Universalist minister. There will also be several non-voting updates made at this meeting.
Plan to attend the community service that will be led by Fourth U’s Coming of Age group. Please join us for fellowship, food, music, and stories in this alternative worship service. If you’d like to bring a dish, contact Julie Taylor at 646-552-5980 or UnrulyRev@mac.com.
